A strong tail wind pushed the crews down the lake yesterday. The WV8 earned the bronze medal (See Jason’s post for details) and the W2V8 won the Petite to put the women’s team in a strong position to earn a bid to the NCAA Championships in Sarasota. We will know on Monday night.

The MV8 had their best race of the year in the heat. They rowed confidently and powerfully holding off a game Trinity boat to make the Grand Final. Things did not go as well in the afternoon. They rowed hard but the rhythm was not as strong and they finished sixth.

The M2V had a tough morning but rebounded with a strong row in the afternoon, finishing second in the petite while the M3V8 finished sixth in the grands.

It was an up and down year, but while we are graduating nine seniors, there is a strong kernel of young rowers returning (five from the 1V) and eight recruits ready to work hard next year. New captains David Bovich and Nathan Pietrowicz will lead a young and eager group next year.

Keep your fingers crossed Monday night for the women’s team!
